1. It is a pity that I did not have the courage to live the life that really pleased me, and not the one that others expected from me.This was the most common regret. When people realize that their lives are almost over and honestly look at the years they have lived, it is easy for them to see how much of what they dreamed of, has remained unrealized. Most of them did not fulfill even half of what they wanted, they had to die, knowing that it happened as a result of their own choice (or that they did not make their choice).     It is very important to try to realize at least part of what you dream about on your way of life. When you lose your health, it’s too late. Health gives you the freedom that very few people realize, usually you understand it when it is no longer there. 2. It is a pity that I worked so much. This was said by all male patients, whom I courted. They missed growing up their own children and communicating with their companions of life.     Women also mentioned this. But since most of them belonged to the older generation, many of the patients were not breadwinners of the family. All the men I was courting deeply regretted having spent so much of my life doing odd jobs for the sake of livelihood.       If you give up excesses, and each time you approach the choice more consciously, you will probably need much less money than you imagine. And, by creating more free space in life, you become more happy and open to new opportunities, which, again, will more correspond to your new way of life. 3. It is a pity that I did not have the courage to express my feelings. Many people suppressed their feelings in order to be in harmony with others. Many developed diseases associated with bitterness and resentment, which they experienced as a result of such control over emotions.     As a result, they were satisfied with the gray existence and never became what they really could be.     We can not control the reaction of other people. However, even if people can first react painfully to your desire for greater honesty, ultimately it will elevate your relationship to a completely new and healthier level. Either way, it will free you from unhealthy relationships. You win anyway.   4. It is a pity that I did not keep in touch with friends.People really realized the full benefit of communicating with old friends only when there were several weeks to death, but it was not always possible to find these friends. Many were so immersed in their own lives that their relationship with friends over the years came to naught. I heard many deep regrets that people did not give the friendship of that time and the efforts it cost. Everyone misses their friends at the threshold of death.     In our busy life devoted to the production of food, we all miss the friendship. But when you come across the approach of death, all material material recedes into the background. Yes, people want, that before leaving their financial affairs were in order. But not money and status are a true value for them. They want everything to be all right basically for the sake of those they love. However, they usually feel too sick and tired to cope with this task. In the long run, it all comes down to love and human relationships. This is all that remains in recent weeks: love and relationships. 5. It is a pity that I did not allow myself to be happier.Surprisingly, this regret was also common.     Many people until the end of their days did not realize that happiness is a matter of their own choice.     They remained hostages to their old attitudes and habits. The so-called “comfort” of the habitual way of life subordinated to themselves their emotions, as well as their physical life. The fear of change forced them to pretend to both others, and to themselves, that they are all happy. While deep inside they wanted so much to laugh really and again to find levity.     On your deathbed, you are least worried about what others think of you. How wonderful in the face of death to be able to worry about nothing and smile again.      Life is a choice. This is your life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly. Choose happiness.
