The aim
of my study was to examine which top factors could possibly influence and worry
the consumer about switching to a partially or fully automated car. This paper
possibly highlighted at a very high level the possible reasons why a consumer might
hold off from purchasing and experiencing this new technology. Adoption of
newer technology has always brought in anxiety about existing systems getting
replaced slowly and not in one go. However, for adoption of autonomous vehicles
regular cars can only be phased-out in a slow fashion and this may make consumers
anxious and influence their decision to purchase an autonomous vehicle today. Policies and laws with
regards to usage and insurance are still not in place to instill confidence
quickly amongst consumers to go out and purchase these vehicles.
