The ideal time to travel to Sapa

What to see in Sapa?

Ham Rong Mountain

This is the most visited place in Sapa. Only about 5-minute-walk from the center. Travelling to Ham Rong mountain resort, tourists can visit the orchid garden, peach blossom and many other flowers, or climb to the height of 1800 m to see the whole town and zoom out to the Fansipan summit. It can be an amazing experience for those who have the interest of sightseeing and photography.

Sapa Stone Church

Another must-see destination in Sapa is Stone Church built in 1895. Located in the center of the town, it is an ancient stone structure built by the French and preserved intact to this day.

Since its establishment, Sa Pa Stone Church has always been a place of many traditional cultural activities of ethnic groups. Right in front of the church is the area of the courtyard and the annals, where every Saturday evening, there is a unique cultural activity of ethnic minorities that tourists are familiar with the name “love market”. Mount Fansipang is the highest mountain in Indochina, 9 km from Sa Pa town. At the height of 3,143 m, Fansipan attracts many tourists at home and abroad in the conquest. Sometimes, in the winter, when the temperature gets lower, even tourists can take photos with the snow (which never appears in other areas of Vietnam).

Cat Cat is also called Cat village, which is located 2 km from the town. This is the place where traditional brocade weaving and jewelry made from silver, bronze are popular. Another impressive tourist highlights of Cat Cat are the ancient houses with wooden trusses.

Ta Phin is a beautiful natural landscape, located 17 km from the town. This is the place where the red Dao people live with traditional brocade weaving. In addition to admiring the scenery here, visitors can also visit the nearby Ta Phin Cave.

 

What is Sapa’s shopping as a gift?

Brocade is one of the most favorite items that many tourists choosing for their loved ones. Brocade items are available at the local market or on the street, in the middle of the street.

Dried buffalo meat: Meat is sold pretty much in Sapa. The price is about 800,000 -1,000,000VND/ kg depending.

Mushroom: Sapa forest mushrooms growing on chestnut trees in Hoang Lien Son deep forest is considered the best – it is sweet. The locals often go to the forest to pick up mushrooms, string on the bamboo strip and bring out the town to sell a lot.
