The world is rapidly changing and with these unparalleled changes we see unprecedented opportunities but also intricate problems. The Advance Technology course was designed to prepare individuals with the ability to combine various disciplines, concepts and skills to create multidisciplinary solutions, through the integration of technology, to these problems. More specifically, the Advance Technology course helps teachers to enhance their lesson plans subsequently amplifying their student reach through a more effect and relatable delivery. I was already exposed to technology in the classroom. And whereas I found the course informative, I also saw it as a reinforcement.Throughout the semester we explored a large number of mediums that could possibly facilitate the implementation of technology in the classroom. These included online classes, constructing website, blogs, web quest, digital stories, podcast and interactive PowerPoint. As an educator learning new tools in technology, I had the opportunity to become an ‘expert’ on not only using technology efficiently in the classroom for presentational purposes but also to creatively develop my own lesson plans to meet the needs of my students in a flexible and relatable manner. Using the knowledge of technology application, I can help my students at work and my classmates at the college to analyse, learn, explore and think critically. I can also use my knowledge of technology to be more creative and innovative in this digital era.My personal observation has showed me that technology is a positive tool in the classroom. It positively impacts the teaching and learning process for both the educator and the learner. Significant improvements in productivity and attitude can be seen when the use of technology is effectively employed. However, one must be mindful of its appropriateness and its method of delivery to create new and more efficient possibilities to effectively reach the goal of the class, inside and outside the educational room.
