This essay that I’m going to be showing you is about the four majors waves of immigration this is going to talk about is the different times when immigration was happening and it’s also going to talk about what the immigrants went through in these times This paragraph is going to talk to you about the us immigration in 1790 and what happened to the immigrants why they came and who they were. Many people came to the US before 1790. The races of people that came to the United States are the English, Africans, Irish, Scottish, and Germans. They came from Africa, Ireland, Germany, and scotland. Why they came to the US is for religion and to get jobs and have new opportunities for their families. What these people experienced were a lot of sicknesses from the trip to the US and some people died from the sicknesses. Now the next paragraph is going to talk about the first wave of immigration and what immigrants came and what they went through The first wave of United States immigration occurred from 1790-1820. The English, Scottish, Irish, French and Spanish. Where these guys came from were from Scotland, Ireland, France, and Mexico. They all came here by boat. Why they came here was to hopefully get a job and get money to provide food for their families What they experienced were sicknesses and when they got to the island in San Francisco they were checked if they had sicknesses or not. If they did they would be sent away from everybody else including their families. Also if there face looked strange the guards at the island would take them away and test them and if they failed the test or the sickness was untreatable they would be sent back from where they came from. Now off to the second wave which is going to talk about what it was like for the immigrants more in the future. The second wave occurred around 1820s to the 1880s. Who came to New York were the Irish came from Ireland for the population and the Chinese came here because of the gold rush. What these immigrants experienced when they got here was being accused of stealing other people’s jobs. The third wave happened back in 1880s-1930s The fourth wave happened 1965-present. The japanese and the Mexicans came to the US and there were millions of immigrants that came here. What happened to most of these immigrants about three million immigrants were given amnesty by the government.
